I studied at Mount St. Mary's University for my counseling degree. Some of my passions include cooking, painting, playing volleyball, watching sports, going to kpop concerts & music festivals. A fun fact about myself is that I love to DIY. I've learned how to do my own lashes, nails, hair and make up. In addition to being a counselor at CPLA, I have been an outpatient substance abuse counselor at the Asian American Drug Abuse Program for 3 years now. Looking forward, I want to do and accomplish so many things within 10 years it's so hard to decide! But, I see myself as an LMFT working in an university setting serving the college student population or as a clinical director at a non-profit. I also hope to be involved in my community and continue to make mental health more accessible to underserved communities.
I wanted to work at CPLA to give back to my own high school and also expand my skills and knowledge as a clinician working with youth and adolescents in a school-based setting. I love working at CPLA because of the amazing support that I receive from everyone including my supervisors, my FSP, and my co-counselors. CPLA provides so many opportunities to grow as a person and clinician. I had the best experience doing my traineeship here, I wouldn't change anything for the world! I aim to change the world by providing a nurturing and safe space where my clients can embrace their authentic selves and cultivate self-love. My goal is to empower them to recognize their value, develop meaningful relationships, and build autonomy and self-confidence. Through fostering self-compassion, I strive to support them with the tools to navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace towards themselves and others.

I graduated from Pepperdine University with my MFT degree. In my free time, I love to cook, read books, hike with my dogs, swim in the ocean, lay in the sun, and play tennis with my family. A fun fact about myself is that I have a sister who’s three years younger than me but we look and talk like twins! When I'm not working for CPLA at my school site, I am a server at a restaurant! It's a very different experience but it's fun to get to do both and interact with different people in such different ways. In 10 years I see myself having a private practice that I've made my own with clients I connect with and people around me supporting me and my work. I hope to be close to the water as I find it to be so therapeutic and that I have the chance to incorporate nature and movement into my work.
I wanted to work for CPLA because, as a school-based program, CPLA’s commitment to provide counseling and support services to at-risk and under-served students living in Los Angeles was unlike any other site I had looked at when preparing for practicum. I love that CPLA entrusts its counselors to support students in schools and believes that every child deserves the right to reach their full potential. I also love how working at CPLA is defined by the characteristics, uniqueness, and needs of the students, families and school communities CPLA serves. I love working at CPLA because of the perfect balance of independence we have along with the incredible support that we are provided with. Being entrusted to have my own office, create my own schedule, and develop my own treatment plans has offered me the unique chance to hone in on my therapeutic skills and has really helped me develop my identity as a therapist. The incredible support I have been given by CPLA has allowed me to grow exponentially as a counselor, both independently and collaboratively, with the help of such amazing supervisors and supervision groups, a wonderful FSP, and many other supporters. In working for CPLA, I have noticed what an incredible impact changing one child's world can have, so I hope that by supporting individuals I can, in turn, change the way that they see themselves and the world which can help change the world itself.

I am currently studying at Touro University for my MFT degree. In my free time, I love being active and am blessed to live in Malibu around so much nature and many great hiking trails! I also love being with my family and have a 4-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter who keep me quite busy! A fun fact about myself is that I did one year of school at the U.S. Naval Academy, so I learned to be a sharp-shooter with a rifle! Becoming a therapist is also a second career for me. I am also an attorney and have practiced law for almost 16 years now. In 10 years, I would love to have a private practice that focuses on helping girls and women thrive.
I wanted to work at CPLA because I always knew in my heart that I wanted to foster growth in girls and women. Having the opportunity to do this with adolescents at CPLA has been extraordinary. I love being able to connect with my clients and see them grow. CPLA has such wonderful teachers and supervisors and it is an honor to be in a group of people who dedicate so much to children. The most important work I do at CPLA is trying to affirm my clients sense of self. Having a feeling of "home" and grounding in your inner being is so helpful, and I think when children feel this, it has a ripple effect throughout the world.

I am a student in Antioch Santa Barbara's MFT program. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, traveling with my family, seeing live music & going dancing! A fun fact about myself is that I have seen over 200 concerts! I am also a mom and love my two children and family more than anything! I love volunteering in the community and am so grateful to work in such a vibrant and diverse place like Los Angeles.
I wanted to work in an environment that would give me the chance to be of service to the children in Los Angeles, that's why I chose CPLA. I also wanted to grow, learn, and receive excellent supervision and training opportunities. Working at CPLA has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have enjoyed working with all the wonderful and inspiring children who will be our future. CPLA has given me the opportunity to work and grow in an environment that provides me with freedom, yet it is also very supportive. I hope to establish a private practice that incorporates somatic and horticultural therapy. I want to continue being involved at the community level as a volunteer for all the organizations I value and respect and work as a mental health professional in the Los Angeles area. I would like to earn my Master Gardener credential from UCLA so that I can share my knowledge with the community and create an awareness of the powerful therapeutic benefits that gardening, community, and nature have on our mental health. I hope to help every child I meet in recognizing their value, potential, and deservingness of living their best life.

I graduated from USC with my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Some of my passions and hobbies include painting, being in nature, going to comedy shows, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and being active with soccer, tennis, pickleball, and beach volleyball! I’ve always loved working with kids and families! My roles have ranged from an afterschool teacher in Providence while in undergrad, a bilingual school program coordinator in Austin, and a behavioral therapist for special needs children while doing my masters.
I wanted to work at CPLA because of the opportunity to specifically work with pre-K through 8th grade students. Additionally, at USC's practicum fair I had the pleasure of meeting Therese Funk, Yoseline Lopez Marroquin, and Katie Holmes in person. The three of them were a big draw for me as they are all so personable and passionate about CPLA’s work. I love working at CPLA because of the students and parents. The Principal and teachers have been wonderful to collaborate with. CPLA has provided me with two fantastic and very dedicated supervisors whose guidance has helped me in providing the best individualized therapy for my clients. In 10 years I hope to be continuing to work with children and families both in private practice as a bilingual LMFT, and part-time doing community work in a school or hospital setting. I am also hoping to volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to support children with one-on-one advocacy. I strive to be viewed by kids as a safe person with whom they can share the obstacles they face (whether internal or external), in order to foster each child’s ability to become the secure, confident, kind person that I believe everyone innately is! Additionally, I hope to skillfully facilitate conversations between parents and their children to repair and strengthen relationships.

I am obtaining my master's degree in marriage and family therapy from California Baptist University. I enjoy spending time with my dog, doing yoga, and watching movies! A fun fact is that I'll be graduating this August 2024 with a masters in Counseling Psychology MFT/LPCC!! In addition to working at CPLA, I am a full time student. I also work part-time with adults who have developmental disabilities.
I was interested in working for CPLA because of the population and the ability to work in a school setting. I've had previous experience working in schools but wanted to expand on that experience by working as a counselor in a familiar setting. I loved working with my clients and I enjoyed the relationships I have made through working at CPLA. In 10 years, I hope to work in community mental health after being done with school and then later transition into working in private practice. Wherever I end up, I hope to continue providing a safe space for those who are struggling with their mental health. I've learned that I could make all the difference to a child just by being present and engaging with them. Sometimes all a child needs is to be heard and understood. I hope to make a positive impact, no matter how small, in the lives of all my clients.

My undergrad is from Pepperdine University and my MFT/PCC graduate studies are at UMASS Global. I love camping, traveling, cooking, art, and spending lots of time with my family at the beach. A fun fact is that I love dogs and have a new border collie puppy, Gidget, that I am excited to start training in agility and search and rescue work. My most important other position is being a mother.
I wanted to work at CPLA after coming across a video while I was exploring work options. I was struck by the impact CPLA is having - and I wanted to be a part of that! I enjoy connecting with my students and supporting them as they face challenges and discover their own paths. I value the relationships I have built with other counselors, my supervisors, my FSP, and I feel very supported. In 10 years, I see myself working with children who have experienced trauma. Giving a child a safe space to better understand themselves and their world is how I aim to foster hope.

I am a student at Alliant International University. I love spending my time reading and listening to music. One of my favorite things to do is to go to concerts. A fun fact about me is that I recently started crocheting and made my friend a stuffed dinosaur. I currently work with Glendale Unified School District to connect with families of immigrants and refugees and provide them with social and emotional resources.
I wanted to work for CPLA because I love kids and think it is so important to make sure they feel safe and supported from a young age. I loved CPLA's values and wanted to be a part of the team making so much change. I love getting to learn each child's story and getting to be a person they trust to share their story with. I also love having co-counselors and a FSP I am able to communicate with and bounce ideas off of. In ten years, I see myself working with kids as an LMFT. Hopefully, by then I will also be working towards my PsyD or PhD in order to be able to conduct research that helps make therapy and treatments more accessible and culturally appropriate. My goal with any client, especially children, is to provide a space where they well feel safe enough to sit in their feelings and feel safe enough to express their needs.
